Assuming from your question that an xray was all that was done for diagnostics--may I suggest an ultrasound, possible biopsy of the intestinal tract, blood testing, allergy testing, etc. If you really want to know the best way treat your animal is to obtain a diagnosis so proper treatment can be implemented.
