Question: I just switched my pet from a food I normally buy at the vet's to one that is from the grocery store and now my dog has diarrhea. What could be causing this?

ANSWER: Any rapid change in a dog's digestive system can result in diarrhea. Premium pet foods (like Science Diet, Iams, etc.) are made to be more digestable than a lot of the grocery store brand foods. When a more digestable diet is fed, there is generally less stool produced (great for whomever cleans up the yard!) and it is better for your pet as it feels fuller longer and gets more out of what it eats.
