Question: I received my kitten on
Christmas Eve and two days later it died. It refused to eat and
looked extremely malnourished when I received it. It was a horrible
experience and I hope to never go through it again. I was wondering
if you could please provide some information about how to take
care of a kitten that young such as what to feed it, how to hold
it, and what to watch out for. Thanks!
ANSWER: At the first sign of a problem,
when the kitten refused to eat and you noticed the malnourished
appearance, why didn't you take it to a veterinarian? The best
care for any animal is early detection and early treatment. Had
you gone to your veterinarian early, a proper diagnosis, treatment
plan, and prognosis could have been given at that time--along
with suggestions for proper aftercare!!
