NEW WEBSITE OFFERS A PLACE ON THE INTERNET FOR PET ADOPTION AGENCIES TO PROMOTE THEIR SERVICES Vetco operates small animal hospitals and vaccination clinics next to and within PETCO retail pet stores. As a service to its clients, VETCO has launched a new website (www.petservice.com). The website, petservice.com, has a section designed specifically to promote animal adoption agencies nationwide, called "Adoption Central". Adoption agency information that can be included on the website are name and location of the agency, hours of operation, types of animals they offer, any service fees and restrictions associated with adopting an animal. Any animal adoption agency may list their services on this website, free of charge, provided they register with VETCO. The section is user friendly, offering consumers the choice of finding an adoption agency first by location and then by pet type. For adoption agencies, an added benefit of participating on the website is the potential to raise additional funds. Through an agreement between VETCO and a long distance telephone services provider, consumers can direct donations to the adoption agency of their choice. "All of us at VETCO are committed to making sure all animals are placed in loving homes. We believe that giving adoption agencies another avenue to promote their services is a win-win situation for both the agencies and those people who are hoping to adopt a pet," says Janine Jones, Director of Veterinary Services. The website also offers information on pet health and pet care, selecting the right pet, pet care products and services and an interactive "ask the vet" section, as well as information on VETCO's low cost vaccination clinics.
